Silver Bullion
Silver Bullion

There are a lot of gold coins out there and one of the most popular is the American eagle gold bullion coin. This gold is one of America's official investment grades. The content, purity and weight of the American eagle gold bullion is guaranteed by the United States government.
The coin is 22 karats, since gold is a soft metal they decided to put a mixture of silver and copper to strengthen the coin and keep them looking new. That is why the coin has only 22 parts gold and the other 2 part are silver and copper.
You cannot buy the American eagle gold bullion from the mint directly or from just any dealer; you can buy this coin only to those dealers who are authorized to sell them. Unlike some coin this coin is not bought for their age or rarity.
This coin has been minted starting way back in 1986. The coin is one of the most popular gold coins in the States. It has a feature of liberty's portrait on the front while an eagle flying above its nest is carved on the back. Here are some tips if you want to buy American eagle gold bullion.
You must know first what gold coin you want, the American eagle gold proof or the American eagle gold bullion. The difference between the 2 is that the proof are special collector coin set, its value depends on its condition, age and rarity.
This type of coin are produced in different quantities, comes with a velvet case and a certification of authenticity. Proof Coins are also available on sale directly on the Unites States mint. While the bullion's value is only determine by the current market price of gold at the time the coins are purchased and are sold.
They are not bought by their age or rarity and these coins cannot be purchased from the United States mint. You can only buy these coins to those dealers who are authorized to sell them.
You also have to know what size of the gold coin you want to buy.
Know where to buy the coins for they cannot be purchased on the U.S mint, so if you have close and trusted friends that are experience in this field of business then ask them where you could find a good dealer who can give you a nice offer.
When you buy gold you also have to be preparing to protect them from thieves. You need to have a safe place where you can hide your gold coins, such as safety deposit box or a vault. Some dealers also offer you a storage service.
Gold can good investment if you invest on it wisely. Do you own homework with regards to gold prices and know the risks associated with investing in physical gold.
Find American Eagle gold bullion coins and other information if you want to buy gold bullion on Gordon Smith's website.
How much should I expect to pay for silver bullion?
I know the price of silver is about $11 an ounce right now. However, I went to my local coin shop and they are asking between $17 and $20 for nearly all of their one ounce silver bullion coins. Is this overpriced or is this what I should expect to pay anywhere?
Compare on eBay, which is higher still, then compare on Apmex.com.
Apmex is about as fair as I've seen anywhere. They have Silver American Eagles right now for $3.99 over spot. This is common for such a small quantity for coins.
Bulk silver bullion will only be a few pennies above meltdown price (spot).

The Dow, Dollar & Gold – What Goes Down Must Come Up
This year has been a very exiting time for traders and investors. We have seen a steady climb in prices with controlled pullbacks in the broad market and gold.
Using technical analysis we are able to quickly and accurately make informed decisions just from looking at the charts. In the charts below you will see how simple chart patterns along with support & resistance levels can provide excellent low risk entry points. Also you will see how candle stick charts can be an early indicator for prices to reverse direction.
DIA ETF – Daily
The DIA (Dow Jones Index Fund) is trending higher. By applying some basic technical analysis you are able to time your entry points having the odds in your favor.
In this chart I use two simple forms of analysis. The broadening formation (red trend lines), and horizontal support zones shown in blue.
Broadening Formations: This is when the price becomes more volatile making higher highs and lower lows. I think of it as one of those Megaphones for talking to large groups of people. So when a chart has this pattern it’s virtually yelling at me and I start taking profits or tightening my stops.
Horizontal Support Zones: I like to focus on support or resistance zones which are a little different than most traders. I do not use the top and bottoms of previous waves for these levels. Instead I take the average price then expect the support level to be penetrated somewhat as the level is tested. This is how the market keeps you out of the good trades. I cover this in great detail in my Stock Market Trading Education Course available in January.
Analysis: The DIA ETF looks ready for a pullback to the $99- 100 level.
GLD Exchange Traded Fund – Weekly
Gold has been on fire and riding this wave up has been very profitable thus far. Last week a doji candle was formed on the chart and this can signal a change in short term price action.
This chart shows some of the past doji candles and what happened to the price of gold soon after. What this candle is telling us is that the buying and selling pressure is equal. So we know momentum is slowing and we should expect a consolidation or correction.
Because gold has rocketed higher, indeed going almost straight up in the recent weeks, I expect a pullback to be very quick. A drop to the $110 or even the $100 level in the coming weeks is not out of the question, but we all know commodities can go parabolic for several months (straight up). This is why we continue to tighten our stops and keep holding out long positions.
US Dollar – Weekly
The US dollar has been up and down like a yo-yo in the past 15 months. The chart below clearly shows what has been happening with this currency and what I think we could see very soon.
The blue support zone (73-74) is a key pivot point for the dollar. That being said lets take a look at the chart.
During the time when the price is trending higher July 2008 – Feb 2009 we see lower wicks appear more often. This tells me that sellers pushed the price down early in the week but were then overcome by buyers nearer the end of the week. This is bullish price action. Also the broadening patterns during this timeframe’s tops indicate increased volatility and we know that is a sign of weakness.
From March 2009 – Sept 2009 the trend was down and there are longer upper wicks telling us buyers became over powered by sellers each time the price rallied.
In the recent 3 months we observe lower wicks meaning buyers are moving into the US dollar again. Knowing that there is major support below the current price I have to think the dollar could start to bottom around this level.
Trading Conclusion:
The broad market is becoming unstable and looks like it could have more of a pullback this week. I would not be adding to any long positions until we see the market trading near support. Three out of four stocks move with the market so it is crucial to understand the overall market direction when buying and selling stocks and commodities.
Gold is trading at a level which is fuzzy. The weekly chart is neutral and the daily chart is still on fire as it moves up. All we can do is ride our positions and keep raising our stop prices.
The US dollar could start to bottom over the next few weeks. Depending what happens with Dubai this week we could be in for a big bounce in the dollar as investors flock to safety as the US dollar is still the currency of choice if/when other countries start to have a financial melt down again.

Can you make a ring out of a gold dollar?
I know you can make them out of silver dollars or all silver quarters.
But what about gold dollars?
Or, what happens if you dont use an all silver quarter?

What is the traditional procedure for the use of Arras (unity coins) in a Philippine wedding ceremony?
I am American, and my fiancee is Filipina. We are having a small, semi-formal, close family and friends only wedding ceremony, and we want to include several of the traditional Philippine wedding customs such as the veil, cord, and arras. I pretty much understand how the veil and cord work, but I cannot find anything about what we do with the Arras. We will have an Arras-bearer to bring the coins down the isle, but what do we do with them once they get there?
Well growing up in the Philippines and being in plenty of weddings, the only thing they do with the Arras is hold on to the pillow upon which the arras are placed (with embellished decorations) while the priest blesses it. I never really inquired of its significance but obviously it's symbolism of an affluent marriage. My best advice is to search for a Filipino priest and ask about it.

Find Out Why Coin Collectors Love Three Cent Nickels
Shortly after the United States Civil War there were two different three cent pieces in circulation. You had silver three cent pieces and nickel three cent pieces. And during this post Civil War period, these three cent pieces were actually from silver and nickel. This article focuses on the three cent nickel.
Today in the United States we do not have many different kinds of coins in circulation. We have pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters, half dollars and dollar coins. But, previously in American history there were many more different denomination of coins in circulation. One of these coins were nickel three-cent pieces.
In 1865, however, the US Mint started to produce nickel versions of the three cent piece. These nickel three-cent pieces were 75% cooper and 25% nickel. During the 1880s very few of these nickel three-cent pieces were produced. And in 1889, the three-cent piece was discontinued.
Doesn't it seem wierd that the US Mint produced three cent pieces? Why did the United States Mint mint these us coins? The US Mint started producing the three cent piece in 1851. At first only the silver three-cent piece was produced. The silver three cent pieces were very thin coins which were produced solely to help make it easier to purchase postage stamps. The US postage stamp in 1851 was, you guessed it, 3 cents. Before 1851, these postage stamps were five cents, but the US government reduced the price to three cents.
Today the three-cent pieces are highly valued by US coin collectors and coin collectors around the globe. The three cent pieces in mint condition or in proof condition are worth the most money. During most of the production years of the three-cent piece, the Mint only minted 1,000 or less of these coins per year. Since there were so few of these coins minted, they are very rare making them highly sought after coin collectibles. There nickel three-cent pieces graded at proof-66 are at around $850.
Why are three cent nickels popular buys for coin collectors? Since only 1,000 or less of these coins were minted from 1851 through 1889, the three cent coins are very rare. Scarcity is what drives coin values. If you are trying to determine what a coin is worth, scarcity or rarity is the prime factor. In addition, the history of the three cent coin makes these coins popular too.
With the proof-66 three cent nickel going for roughly $850 due to the rarity of these nickel three cent pieces these are great buys for any us coins collector.
