Who benefited from the Nazi economy in the 1930s?
Between 1933 and 1938, the economy of Nazi Germany rapidly recovered from depression to full employment. But real wages during this period dropped by 25 percent. The question is: where did the wealth produced during the first five years of the Third Reich end up? Who benefited economically during this period?
Here is a tidbit: Prescott Bush, President Bush's grandfather, was fined for trading with the enemy, selling oil to the Nazi's.
Bush was not alone. Ford sold Nazi Germany cars, trucks and tanks, and other financial companies loaned them money. Most of the trade with Germany, however, was done prior to it being illegal.
It is important to point out that Germany alone among England, France and the US allowed cartellization agreements to be legal contracts, this allowed monopolies to flourish, and laid the groundwork for fascism and union busting.

Meanings Behind The Most Popular Tattoos
Throughout history symbolism has play an important part in how we communicate with each other. In the beginning it was a form of speech, a way to record history or even used to ward off evil spirits or to bring luck. Nowadays we each have our own symbols that have deep meanings to us and those around us, and one way to display our symbols is to have them etched on our bodies.
Some symbols in tattoos are more popular than others, for various reasons. Most of the time a symbol is popular because has many different meanings, instead of just a few. This allows all types of people to adopt the symbol and associate with it their own meaning. Other symbols are popular because they are associated with a certain social group, or they mark an important event.
When you are choosing a tattoo symbol, it is important that you fully understand its various meanings in case one of them is unwanted. For example, what if you really liked the symbol of two stylized lightning bolts, but then found out that it was associated with the German Nazi SS troops and biker gangs? You may want to reconsider this symbol.
Significant research is recommended before you decide on your tattoo symbol to ensure that it puts across the right meaning. Luckily the Internet is a great research tool, and you will be able to find thousands of symbols and their meanings.
Below is an example of some of the most popular types of tattoo symbols.
Religious Symbols
There are thousands of religious symbols out there, so if you practice a certain faith, or just want a tattoo that projects a particular feeling then you should have no problem finding a symbol that communicates how you feel. If you are choosing a symbol outside of your faith you will want to research its meaning fully before you go ahead.
Examples of religious symbols include: crosses (there are hundreds of different types), Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus, Star of David, angels, Buddha, Hindu gods (Vishnu, Shiva, Brahma), Wiccan or Pagan symbols, etc.
Cemetery Symbols
Usually any symbol that is associated with death is to remind one of a loved one that was lost, and commemorates their memory. There are many symbols though that can also represent rebirth and change.
Examples of cemetery symbols include: angels, Acanthus leaf, ankh, Celtic cross, dove, Laurel leaves, grapes, Ivy, Lily, obelisk, rose, urn, wreath, tombstones, bible, grim reaper, skull and crossed bones, star, moon, lamb, hands in prayer, etc.
Astrological / Zodiac Symbols
There are many people out there who believe that the alignment of the moon, planets and stars have a bearing on our fate and personality, which is why these symbols are so popular. Some choose to have another person’s astrological or zodiac symbol tattooed on them to show that they are forever linked with each other.
The twelve classic Astrological signs are: Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius.
The twelve Chinese Zodiac signs are: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog, and Pig
There are many other kinds of symbols that can have a significant meaning to a person, such as certain planets, the sun or moon.
Flower Symbols
Nearly every flower on earth has its own symbolism. Usually the meaning arose from that particular flower’s association in a fable, myth, or its adaptation by a monarch or ruler. Each flower can have ten different meanings, and the meanings can change depending on what color the flower is. Here are a few examples of popular flower tattoos and their meanings:
-Rose: love, purity, survival, jealousy
-Lotus Flower / Water Lily: rebirth, good fortune, enlightenment
-Lily: faith, innocence, purity, afterlife
-Violet: modesty and simplicity
Ancient Symbols
Tattooing would have never begun if ancient people’s hadn’t decided that certain symbols guarded against evil and brought good luck. They thought to permanently mark their skin with these symbols to ensure that they were always safe and protected. Thus these ancient symbols have preserved over thousands of years and are still popular.
Egyptian hieroglyphs are exotic, interesting and bring a touch of history to your tattoo. Many symbols that you see today have evolved from Egyptian hieroglyphs, and many others still exist in their original form.
Those who are from Irish or Scottish descent usually prefer Celtic symbols to illustrate their affinity for their homeland. Fortunately, the Celts designed and perfect many beautiful symbols that are perfect for tattoo design, including the Celtic knot and Celtic cross.
Likewise, those from African ancestry may like to research the many Adinkra or West African symbols that have evolved. These simplistic designs illustrate the beauty of the country and help the wearer to stay in touch with their roots. The same applies to Native Americans and their descendants, who have a host of beautiful and rich symbols to choose from, including many powerful animal totems that can provide guidance and protection.
There are many symbols that evolved because of the wearer’s job, instead of their country of origin. No wear is this truer than with sailors, who over time have developed a ‘code’ of tattoo language with their various symbols which include anchors, mermaids, nautical stars and compasses.
Finally, many who want to pay homage to their ancestors are doing research on their clan’s coat of arms. Many historical databases provide pictures and histories for just about any family name as well as any symbols they may have used.
Pride Symbols
There used to be a time where being gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual or having some kind of fixation wasn’t something to celebrate, but in today’s accepting society there is nothing preventing you from displaying pride in your sexual orientation.
Most of us are familiar with the rainbow or rainbow flag symbol, but do you know what it stands for? There are six colors on the flag and each of them has their own meaning: red for life, orange for healing, yellow for sun, green for nature, blue for harmony and purple for spirit.
Other pride symbols include the pink or black triangle, Labrys (double-bladed ax), Leather Pride Flag, Lamda, Bear Pride Flag, Bear Brotherhood Flag, Purple Rhino, freedom rings, Bisexual Pride Flag, Transgender symbol, Bisexual Symbol, red ribbon, etc.
Chinese / Kanji Characters
There are thousands of Chinese and Kanji characters that have their own specific meaning such as luck, happiness, abundance, wealth, fertility and so on. Not only are these signs beautiful to the eye, they convey a meaning to the wearer.
Symbols of Hate
As much as we would like to believe that tattoos are meant to send positive messages, sometimes groups adopt a symbol to mean the opposite. It is important to ensure that the symbol you choose does not associate you with a group or sect like the KKK, neo-nazis or prison gangs. Most of know the obvious signs such as swastikas but there are other symbols that you may not know of that have negative connotations.
Whatever symbol you choose, it is going to be with you forever, so choose carefully and make sure you are 100% comfortable with your choice before you proceed.

Where can I get a great German Mauser Kar 98k?
I need a Kar 98k that is in good condition at least, the swastika needs to be visible, and is under $800 USD.
I am currently going through the guns of a gentleman that recently passed away. His wife doesn't have any use for the collection.
One of the guns is a Mauser K98. Very good condition. I'd have to check for a swastika (?) and let you know if there is one. Does have a number of proof marks and is chambered in 8mm.

Would Iran Be German, And Ahmadinejad, Be Hitler?
Hasan A. Yahya, A professor of philosophy
The Holocaust few remaining survivors may recall how Hitler built up his anti-Semitic policies to persecute Jews as well as other ethnic groups during the period of WWII. One of these practices was unifying Gemany, incite hatred of non-Aryan race, youth organization support the government through police forces and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards.
Pacificviews.org's article titled: "Hitler, Munich, Ahmadinejad, Iran", gives a comparative analysis between Ahmadinejad (Iranian president) and Hitler . In fact, Ahmadinejad's resemblance to Hitler is a scary thing and reasonably imagined. But such imagination is more a function of his role in the decay of the Iranian revolution power, which is starting to take on some definite Weimer overtones. Signs are seen in the shape of frog jumping in the fire-house. For example, Ahmadinejad's Holocaust denials, his public fantasies about Israel being wiped off the map which may lead any observer to think "sensibly" dismissed Hitler's Mein Kampf ravings as merely a carny act to bring in the rubes. But I also know that fire-breathing rhetoric about destroying the "Zionist entity" has been a staple of Middle Eastern political hate speech since the 1950s of last century. Such threats have to be taken seriously, and everybody should be aware of that. But to automatically assume that those who say such things are actually planning to commit genocide. No one, especially Israel, may dismiss those remarks even though publicized by liberals, or anti-communism and political right.
Assuming that the man is very similar to Hitler, is little far from Ahmadinejad as a pios Muslim person. But as a Shi'ah believer, the assumption should have some weight in world politics. While no one can guess Ahmadinejad's intentions, his practices recently undertaken by him or his government supporters lead to that assumption that he might become Hitler-like person, especially when it comes to Jews, denial of the Holocaust, and threatening to map out Israel from the world community. But to be unbiased in this case we ha have to look to what Adolf Hitler did and what Ahmadinejad is doing, and let the reader judge for him/herself.
What Hitler Did? In Germany, the National Socialist German Workers' Party (abbreviated NSDAP), known as the Nazi Party, was a political party in between 1919 and 1945. It was known as the German Workers' Party (DAP) before the name was changed in 1920. The party's last leader, Adolf Hitler, was appointed Chancellor of Germany by president Paul von Hindenburg. in 1933. Hitler rapidly established a totalitarian regime known as the Third Reich. Nazi Ideology, stressed the failures of communism, liberalism, and democracy. It also stressed the "racial purity of the German people", as well as Northwestern Europeans and persecuted those it perceived either as race enemies that is "life unworthy of living". This included Jews, Slavs, Roma, and Arabs, and so-called "Mischlings " along with Communist, homosexuals, , the mentally and physical disabled, and many others. This persecution came to its climax when the party and the German state which it controlled organized the systematic murder of millions of non Aryan race especially the Jews, in what has become known as the Holocaust. Hitler's desire to build a German empire through expansionist policies led to the outbreak of World War II.
What Iran Ahmadi Nejad did: In Iran, the revolutionary ideology stresses the failure of liberals and democracy. It is also stresses the racial purity of Persians and Shi'ah in other Arab and non-Arab countries and persecuted those who oppose the government or the ruling party. Nejad desire to build an Iranian empire through expansionist policies which may lead to the outbreak of wars in the future. The party grew out of smaller political groups with a nationalist orientation through the spirit of Khomeini.
The airways and skies of Iran were announced forbidden as air flight zones, if the Airlines belong to countries do not recognize the Persian Gulf, replacing the word "Arabian", This claim from one nation (Iran), it hurts six Arab nations surround the Gulf as well as tens of countries support the Arabian name Gulf. Furthermore, the gulf has two sides, three quarter of its area belong to Arabs according to International laws. Other point, the Islands occupied by Iran which belong to the United Arab Emirates and denial of Iran of their right. Another expansionist threats, calling the Kingdom of Bahrain as belong to Persia (or Iran). The internal situation in terms of free thinking, especially after last summer's presidential election, which was accused to be stolen by the government, also show some concerns, the Iranian authorities recently closed two major opposition publications, among the last to remain in circulation as the government has suppressed its opponents' communications in recent months. Earlier, the authorities had blocked most opposition Web sites inside Iran and slowed the Internet to a crawl to prevent protesters from organizing demonstrations (New York Times, March 2)
Deterioration of labor force situation of unpaid employees brought Human Rights Activists attention, While Ahmadinejad government Support only those who support the status quo and government and party, Human Rights News Agency reported that 80 employees of Metec, a steel and industrial equipment manufacturer, gathered in front of the company offices in Isfahan demanding to know why they had not received a paycheck in seven months. Also, the head of Iran's air force, Hassan Shah-safi, announced the production of a number of 2,000-pound guided bombs, the semiofficial news agency Fars reported. The bombs, called Qassed, or herald, were first tested in a military exercise in 2006. Another 20,000 people were arrested on Feb. 11, the 31st anniversary of the Islamic Revolution, when the government thwarted opposition plans to stage a large antigovernment rally. Arresting opposition people by hundreds is another situation. Mr. Shah-safi said that Iran would soon test a new generation, called Qassed-2, that would be "more precise and enjoy a better destructive capability (The New York Times, March 2)
What Ahmadinejad's and Iran's power are not, however, compared to Israel, He remains the absolute dictator of an in-advanced industrial state with a first-rate military. To pretend that he currently poses the same kind of threat to the world (or even to the Jewish people) that Hitler did in 1938 is ridiculous. It also "discredits the very legitimate concerns that the world should have about Iran and the future of the Iranian revolution."
We may reach the conclusion made by pacificviews.org. writer, that "Ahmadinejad's combination of demagogic appeal, ideological zealotry and end-times eschatology does make him a much more plausible stand-in for Hitler than an apparachik like Milosevic or a thug like Saddam." But time is running, and the world which brought Hitler, may still have the appetite to bring another. While symptoms of Nazism are in the making, one should be aware of the world change in terms of ethnic and religious ideologies, No body knows!(1139 words) www.hasanyahya.com

Classic Volkswagen History
At the 1933 Berlin Auto Show, Adolf Hitler announced his plans of coming up with a small car, affordable by the average people in Germany. This statement was made with the intention of gaining the support of the people of Germany to his regime. Legend states that just before making the announcement to the world, Adolf Hitler approached Ferdinand Porsche (who was working as an auto consultant after offering his expertise to the leaders like Daimler-Benz and Auto Union) with his intention of a small car.
The car, according to the demands set by Adolf Hitler, had to be a four-seater that was capable of cruising at 62 mph for a 33 mpg besides being air-cooled. He called it as the “Volkswagen’, meaning the “people’s car.” The biggest challenge that Hitler placed before Porsche was his demand for the car to be priced below 1,000 Marks.
The speech at the Berlin Auto Show was followed by Hitler’s order for three prototypes of the new car within the next ten months. As Porsche, who had, in between designed a small car that more or less coincided with the demands set forth by Hitler, he concentrated his efforts in modifying these designs to meet the requirement.
In the year 1935, in the midst of his new blueprint, Porsche visited America to evaluate and learn on the assembly line production adopted by GM, Packard and Ford in manufacturing.
Later in 1936, Porsche submitted the three prototypes of the new car after putting it forward to a number of road tests to check for its stability and reliability. Erwin Komenda, the chief engineer of Porsche, was the one behind the design of the car, which is known as the "Beetle" today.
Later at the Auto exhibition of 1938 Hitler announced his decision to start with the production of the new car. It was at this juncture that he renamed the new car as 'KdF Wagen' or the 'Kraft durch Freude' meaning 'strength through joy.’ Legend states that the Swastika surrounded by the cogged wheel was the first official emblem of KdF Wagen.
The new factory employed people with the expertise from America for the production of the new car. However, the production of the cars never realized with the factory directing its attention to the production of military vehicles during World War II. After the fall of the Germans, when the British Military Government took over the company, it started the production of the car from the blueprints discovered under the expert guidance of Major Ivan Hirst. It was during this period that the name was changed back to ‘Volkswagen’ and it launched the “Beetle.”
But attempts made by the British Government to relieve them of control of the company faced denial from the French Government, Ford Motor Company and Fiat. It was in 1949 that the government of the Federal Republic of Germany took over the trusteeship of Volkswagenwerk. After this phase, there has been no looking back for Volkswagen, which widened its horizons through the Volkswagen-Porsche partnership to become the world’s largest car manufacturer in terms of production.

Nazi Hitler German

Barack Obama is not Hitler
I will get right to the point; Comparing Barack Obama to Adolf Hitler is an inexcusable mistake. It is the sort of mistake that can only originate from either the narrow-minded or the ignorant: from the former, who may or may not be educated, such a comparison originates from a misunderstanding of Obama's fundamental concept of "change", from the latter, such a comparison originates from a limited fundamental knowledge of history and its uses.
Before I move on to the foundation of my thesis, note that I am not writing to change anyone's political views. I am writing out of disgust of those who are brazen enough to hold up the picket signs that read, "Hitler wanted 'change' too", and flamboyantly flash the garbage words that make my breakfast bitter as I watch the morning news in my living room. The audience that I write too is unrestricted; maybe I'm the one being narrow-minded and these people actually can back up the messages that they are spreading around. This is improbable though. My purpose in writing is to shed light to those involved in the happenings of society. I do not seek to influence; In fact, I am a detractor of the concept of "influence". It is an individual’s responsibility to create his or her own thoughts on certain issues. Now, I'm not sure if republican intellectuals consciously fooled people into categorizing Obama with Hitler, or people truly make this silly comparison, for a word as powerful as "Hitler" can easily sway the mind of a non-intellectual.
As I now set the foundation of my thesis I can only wonder why people would think to compare Obama to Hitler. Certainly not everyone who actively encourages changes in the government is a Nazi. Let me remind you, in case you had forgotten, who Hitler was. Yes, he did want "change", but not with the respect to the government so much as he wanted it with respect to the German population. He was an evil genius, a nationalist, and a demagogue who was able to convince the German population that it needed "cleansing". He killed millions of people. Obama on the other hand recognizes a problem with our functional government. He knows that if he does not act as president, if policies were to remain as they are now, our country will fall into shambles! Every democrat and republican knows that this is the truth. It is indisputable, and referencing Obama's policies to that of Hitler is the most pathetic and desperate attempt thinkable to defame a president who has the best interest of America in mind.

If the German won the World War I, would Hitler and NAZI still rise to power and start the World War II?
We all know that the devastation occurred in Germany after her loss on World War I paved the way of Adolf Hitler's rise to power. In the end, NAZI became the dominant power in Germany and you all know what happened next.
Now, would the same thing occur if the German won the first World War? Would Germany still be devastated enough that Hitler could still rise to become 'Fuhrer'?
How would this affect Europe nowadays? Is 'European Union' going to exist nowadays? Any German could give his/her opinion here?
Hitler came to power because of the scapegoating and general distress of post WW1 Germany. Even if Germany had won the war, it likely would have been in a poor financial position. However, it would probably still have a Kaiser and any path towards democracy would be a slow one.
However, as the war ended the Russians had already killed their Czar and the Austrian emperor (Karl) was making moves to bring more freedoms to his people. This may have put pressure on the Germans to also allow for democratic reforms to allow some form of elected representation.
But any political movement would likely not be ultra nationalist (since the Kaiser would be a symbol of German nationalism) and would likely not be entirely economic centred. This means that the blame games and weak political system that Hitler needed to come to power would not be in place. He would likely have still joined a political party looking to strengthen Germany, but they would possibly only have a small (if any) role to play in a new Germany. Hitler himself would likely go down in history as a poor artist and little more.
As for the EU, this could be examined from two angles. A German victory in WW1 would leave Europe in a weak financial state and could lead to retaliation from France and a WW2 of sorts depending on how any treaty would be dealt with. But if each of the nations remained free there would be a possibility of continued animosity stemming from nationalism (and an eventual second war) or the nations would find a need to work together after the collapse of the US (1929). This would mean that trade would have to be pushed forward for some nations (again creating allied blocks or a large trading union) and this would create some cooperation to build Europe back into an economic power that is partially lost after WW1
