It's that time of the year again. The yuletide season bring out the hidden calories and the best in people-definitely a good time of the year to be around in. Squeeze the most out of the holidays by taking it to your home in a most tangible way. Here are some great Christmas tree decorating ideas you and your family are sure to enjoy.
Whoever said less is more obviously did not get Santa's decorating memo for trees. As far as tinsel and ornaments are concerned, a crowded tree is a happy tree. Of course, this should not mean to just slap on any bauble and ribbon you find around the house-this year, plan your motif well and go all out.
What tree are you going for? You can use the timeless evergreen fir tree anyone can get at a Christmas tree shop; or you can also go with the more creative creations available in several specialty sites. Synthetic trees are also a good alternative if you already have one stored in your basement. As long as you get your creative juices flowing, anything is possible.
Decide on your theme and color palette before anything else. You can deck your tree and home with blue, silver and white ornaments for a cool Christmas. Go traditional in rich red velvet, lace and beads with green highlights. Find out what the children in your house like and make this a project for them. They can come up with a nature or even a North Pole inspired theme and spend the weekend planning and collecting materials for it.
Decorations do not need to be just ornamental balls and pretty wraps wound around the tree. Silk ribbons or dried herbs tied colorfully around the limbs of the tree make for an interesting look. Candles subtly glittered and mounted all over the tree lend a quaint and old world feel to your home (never light them up; they are serious fire hazards no matter how pretty you think they will look). String up miniature pictures of your family along with charms or personal baubles and drape them around the tree for an intimate and touching Christmas ambiance.
You don't need to stop with just one tree, consider putting little trees in every nook or room of the house. You can have a tree in the kitchen with spoons and forks hanging on its branches. Put one in the garage and have nuts and bolts, or key chains wrapped around the limbs. It will be sure to put a smile on the faces of passersby.
Crown the top of the main tree with a special family memento. It can be the traditional star or angel handed down by former generations; let it be one of particular significance that you can establish as a tradition to your own family for the years to come.
And lastly, play yuletide songs in your home. It's one of the best Christmas tree decorating ideas you can do. It's not tangible but it reminds us all the real meaning of Christmas and truly-you cannot put a price on that.
Giselle Taylor gets great tips from her trips to the Christmas tree shop. Click on this site to find excellent Christmas Tree Decorating Ideas you can use today.

Women's boat shoes have marked a new beginning in the fashion footwear industry. These shoes have undergone a series of modifications, which have resulted in the emergence of a new style of trendy footwear. These kinds of shoes go very well with an extensive variety of designer clothes. Thus it's the first choice for women across the world. Colourful designs, lightweight and comfort are the things which make them popular and more sought after than other varieties.
History has it that boat shoes for women were initially manufactured to provide protection for feet while boating or sailing. Through the passage of time and continuous upgrading of the designs, these women's shoes became a very fashionable footwear. The Indian moccasins were a great inspiration behind the innovation of these shoes. Previously these shoes were available in a few select outlets, but now they are available, even at your local marina. Some of the biggest footwear brands of the world manufacturers, design and stock women's shoes.
Though women don't need much advice on how to look beautiful and smart, there are some things which must be kept in mind when purchasing women's boat shoes. The quality of the rubber sole and the material with which the shoes are made, need to be inspected carefully before zeroing in on a particular brand. The rubber used to make these shoes may vary from company to company. But, if you were looking for high quality women's shoes then going for an international brand would be the best idea.
The traditional women's boat shoes are made out of a single piece leather, which is stitched on the top. These shoes today are still manufactured from the same material. The only difference is that the manufacturers apply a variety of waterproofing substances to make the shoes all that more durable and efficient.
These shoes are now not just for one particular event or occasion. Whether you go out sailing or with friends to a beach party, you can get a pair of boat shoes without any difficulty. As most of the international brands are into developing women's deck shoes, the choice available to you is plenty and of the highest quality. The designers of these reputable brands are aware of the tastes and preferences of women so, boat shoes or deck shoes designed by them win over the hearts of every fashion conscious woman.
Most of the women's boat shoes are laced and come in many pastel shades. The design of these modern shoes for women are different from the traditional women's shoes. Back in history, these shoes were meant for the sailors and were made for that purpose. But now they are regarded as a fashion accessory for which, more importance is given to the cut and styling of the shoes.
Deckshoes.co.uk is a one-stop shop for all boat shoe lovers. you will be delighted to find a huge variety of colourful and designer women's boat shoes at this online store.

The Many Uses of Mint
The cooling freshness of mint is loved by all, isn’t it? Most of us associate the leaf/plant with wonderfully fresh breath but rarely do most pick up a bunch of mint from the market to use for other purposes and it’s a downright shame! Whether spearmint, peppermint or some other type of mint (by the way, I love the chocolate mint—I chop up some leaves over fresh fruit and have got a lovely, low-cal dessert!) the uses for mint are almost endless. Fresh or dried, the leaves have a pleasant warm, fresh, aromatic and sweet flavor with a cool aftertaste, and are great in teas, jellies, syrups, candies and ice cream.
In some parts of the Middle East, they use mint in lamb dishes and you’ll almost always get served a nice cup of mint tea after a heavy meal—great for digestion. A drop of mint oil is delicious in chocolate when serving up some chocolate fondue after a meal, and I love adding fresh mint leaves to fruit and vegetable salads for a hint of something different and fresh.
Aside from its use in food, mint comes to our rescue in so many other ways, as well. It’s a great relief if you get bad headaches; just put a few drops of peppermint oil on a cold, wet washcloth and place over your forehead to relax your senses. If you don’t have any fresh mint at home, add a drop of peppermint oil to a cup of herbal tea to help digestion, gas and ease heartburn. It makes a great massage cream when added to unscented body cream, too –and quite invigorating in the hot summer months, especially if you’re trying to cut back on air conditioning bills.
Place a few drops of peppermint oil on an oil burner to freshen a room and kill air-born bacteria. A few drops of peppermint oil in a footbath aids in relieving tired feet, and it’s even great for freshening laundry—just add 2-3 drops of peppermint oil to a dry washcloth and add to the dryer with your clothes. And finally, my favorite use for peppermint oil—I always carry a container of encapsulated mint oil for between meals to prevent gas from food I don’t digest well. You could also rub some on the belly or lower back area to relieve gas pains, as it’s absorbed through the skin. A minty relief!

is buying investing in rare coins (us mint and earlier) safer than buying bullion... or smarter too.?
congress scares me. i have heard both sides of the stimulus package but everyone agrees it is to small. where do i put my savings. where do i put the cash from my pickle jar under the porch.
Buying pre 1933 US gold coins is not "safer" However is is wiser. Here is the reason why. The gold coins currently produced by the US mint called the gold eagles are in very short supply. Also the only gold coins being produced are the 1 ounce gold eagles. The 1 ounce gold eagles are great coins but there is a problem with them. Under current law when you go to cash them in the dealer or trading company has to report that to the IRS on a 1099 if you trade in 10 coins or more. This is not required for the fractional glod coins such as the 1/10 ounce, 1/4 ounce, and 1/2 ounce gold eagles. Sadly the US mint shut down production of the fractional gold coins in September of 2008 to prevent the public from protecting themselves. They also started rationing and increasing the minimum amount that the dealers and bullion banks will recieve and the quanity they must sell to individuals. Most companies now require a 10 one ounce coin min just to get into this market. They have effectly priced most people out of wealth protection by doing this.
I personally buy pre 1933 US $20 gold coins for many reasons. There is no reporting requirement on 1099 to the IRS when you sell back your gold coins in ANY amount. Also pre 1933 gold coins have outpaced gold bullion coins in overall returns over the last 10 years. The reason it has outpaced gold bullion coins is they cant go back and make this material. Pre 1933 US $20 gold pieces currently cost about $1250 pre coin on average. Their increase over the last 10 years has been an average of 33% per year. Gold bullion on the other hand is currently selling for about $975 if you can find it. It has gone up only 22% per year over the last 10 years. Pre 1933 US $20 gold has outpaced all other investment classes. No exception.
Alot of people also say that the pre 1933 gold is better because it cant be confiscated. This is not true. It would MOST LIKELY be exempt from a confiscation. However our money is not backed by gold any longer and the likelyhood of another gold confiscation today is very small. Unlike 1933 only about 1 in 15,000 housholds own gold. Also the US would be the laughing stock if they began a gold confiscation again. China recently allowed the ownership of gold. I find the confiscation possibility a non factor in choosing what gold to own. I buy what I can find but I prefer the pre 1933 US $20 gold pieces on the lower end, the ungraded raw coins for my holding.

Delhi braces itself for the 2010 Commonwealth Games
The excitement is soaring for the next year’s most awaited event, 2010 Commonwealth Games to be hosted by India in Delhi. Though there is a considerable amount of time left for the commencement of the games, the Delhites have already started to paint the city red.
The event is scheduled to commence between 3 October and 14 October 2010. This is the first major sport event to be held in Delhi and also a significant leap for India. The previous big event hosted by India was the Asian Games in 1951 and 1982. The opening ceremony for the event is scheduled to take place at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Delhi.
The world is keeping its eye fixed on the event to be held next year. It is going to be held the second time in Asia and third time in a developing country. The common wealth games were held in other developing countries like Jamaica in 1966 and Malaysia in 1998.
The Indian Government is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the Common Wealth Games to be hosted in New Delhi become a grand event. Even though, Raja Randhir Singh, vice president for the commonwealth Games Federation expressed deep concerns for the observed delay in Delhi, he granted approval on 18th January 2008, Delhi was given the approval.
Along with the Commonwealth games other cities in India have also hosted games in the past. The commonwealth Youth Games were held in Pune between October 12 and 18, 2008. The Youth games included sports like boxing, swimming, table tennis, weightlifting and wrestling.
India’s Sports Minister is heading the conducting committee while President of the Indian Olympic Association, Suresh Kalmadi is heading the organizing committee. The games shall be commencing from 3rd to 14th October 2010.
Though there are speculations, the government is assuring a grand event. It is advisable to start booking your tickets and making hotel reservations now because seats are now fast being occupied. To catch all action, log on to www.india-classifieds.com and get the list of all the restaurants and hotels in Delhi.

What did the Pakistani female swimmers wear in the South Asian Games 2010?
There was a Pakistani women's swim team that competed in the SAF Games this year, but does anyone know what they wore in the pool? I would assume they wore bodysuits but apparently the FINA (Federation Internationale de Natation) banned the full bodysuit after the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Did the FINA rules even apply to the South Asian games? If anybody could find out that would be great
